About Ticket to Ride scoring
Ticket to Ride (Alan R. Moon, Days of Wonder, 2004, Spiel des Jahres 2004) scores routes during play and the rest at the end. A route scores on the scoring track as soon as it is claimed. Long routes are worth more: one 6-train route scores 15 points, two 3-train routes only 8. When a player ends a turn with 0, 1 or 2 trains left, every player, that player included, gets one final turn.
Players then reveal their Destination Tickets. A completed ticket adds its value, and a ticket kept but not completed subtracts it. The player with the Longest Continuous Path adds 10 points; if players tie for it, all of them score the 10. Points are easy to miss on the track, so the rulebook suggests recounting each player’s routes at the end.
If players tie on points, the one who completed the most Destination Tickets wins. If that is level too, the one among them holding the Longest Continuous Path bonus wins. Otherwise they share the victory, as the 2025 rulebook says. The app asks for the ticket count only when a tie happens.
The sheet is for the base game, with its map of North America; its scoring is unchanged in the 2025 edition. Other maps, and expansions such as USA 1910 with its 15-point Globetrotter bonus, are not covered.
How Ticket to Ride is scored
Routes score during play: each claimed route moves its owner's marker along the scoring track, 1 to 15 points by length. At the end, completed Destination Tickets add their value, incomplete ones subtract it, and the Longest Continuous Path adds 10 points. The app's sheet is filled in after the game: route points, completed and failed ticket totals, and a tick for the longest path.
The rows below are the app's Ticket to Ride sheet, in the order of the game's score pad. "You enter" is the row's own explanation in the app; "Points" is what the app does with the entry.
Claimed Routes
You enter: Enter total points from claimed routes. (1 train = 1 point, 2 trains = 2 points, 3 trains = 4 points, 4 trains = 7 points, 5 trains = 10 points, 6 trains = 15 points)
Points as entered.
Completed Tickets
You enter: Add the point values of all Destination Tickets you successfully completed.
Points as entered.
Failed Tickets
You enter: Add the point values of Destination Tickets you did not complete.
Points: What you enter is taken away from your score.
Longest Continuous Path
You enter: Tick for the player with the Longest Continuous Path, or for every player tied for it. A continuous path may include loops, and pass through the same city, but a given train may never be used twice.
Points: Any number of players can have it. A tick is worth 10 points.
Completed Ticket Count
You enter: Number of completed Destination Tickets.
Points: Not added to the total; breaks ties only.
Tiebreaker
If totals are equal, the player with the higher Completed Ticket Count wins, then the player ticked for Longest Continuous Path. The app asks for a tiebreaker row only when a tie actually happens.
