Privacy Policy – Board Game Score Sheet

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the Board Game Score Sheet application (the “App”).

2. Information We Collect

The App stores information you enter directly within the App, such as:

Player names
Game scores, game history, and player statistics derived from them
App preferences and settings (for example, theme selection)
In-app purchase unlock status (whether the premium unlock is active)
Game requests you submit through the Request a Game feature (see Section 4)
Feedback messages you submit through the Send Feedback feature (see Section 4)

Important: The App does not collect any information about you automatically. All data is stored only what you explicitly enter.

3. How We Use Your Information

The information stored in the App is used only to:

Provide the App’s core functionality (score tracking, game history, and statistics)
Save your preferences and settings
Enable offline functionality

All data is stored locally on your device using SQLite database
The App does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data with us or any third parties
The App does not use cloud storage, advertising SDKs, or analytics tools. The only network connections the App makes are for the optional Request a Game and Send Feedback features described below
No internet connection is required for core app functionality
When you use the Export Data feature, the App creates a temporary JSON backup file on your device and opens the system share sheet so you can save or send it. This file remains under your control at all times
When you use the Import Data feature, the App uses the system file picker to let you select a backup file. The file is read locally and is never uploaded to any server
When you use the Share Results feature, the App creates a temporary image of the game result on your device and opens the system share sheet. You choose whether and where to send it; the App itself never uploads it anywhere
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. The App never receives or stores your payment details; it only stores the unlock status locally on your device
When you use the Request a Game feature, the App sends only the name of the requested game (and its BoardGameGeek id, if you picked it from the list), the App version, and a random request identifier to a Google Form we use to collect requests. Google Forms is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google’s privacy policy. The request does not include your name, player names, scores, device identifiers, or anything else that could identify you. If you are offline, the request is kept on your device and sent later
When you use the Send Feedback feature, the App sends only the text you typed, the name of the game when you report a scoring problem from the result screen, the App version, and a random message identifier to a Google Form we use to collect feedback. Google Forms is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google’s privacy policy. The App does not add your name, player names, scores, device identifiers, or anything else that could identify you, so please do not include personal information in your message. If you are offline, the message is kept on your device and sent later

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to help protect the information stored within the App. However, no method of storage on a device can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Since all your data remains on your device under your physical control, you are responsible for device security (password, biometric lock, etc.).

6. Your Choices and Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device, you can:

Access, edit, or delete your data at any time within the App
Remove all App data by uninstalling the App from your device
Export your data as a JSON backup file via the Settings screen, and save or share it using the system share sheet
Import data from a previously exported JSON backup file to restore your players, game sessions, scores, and results
