About Viticulture scoring

Viticulture (Jamey Stegmaier and Alan Stone, Stonemaier Games, 2013) is scored on the victory point track as the game goes. Filling a wine order earns the victory points shown on the card. Visitor cards, wake-up time 6 and some bonus action spaces also give points. So do the windmill and the tasting room, at most 1 point a year each. Some visitors cost points, but no score can go below −5.

Filling an order also moves your wine bottle token up the residual payment tracker. These residual payments are lira, up to 5 at the end of each year, not victory points.

When a player reaches 20 points, the year is still played to its end, and then the most points wins. Ties go to the most lira, then the highest total value of wine in the cellar, then of grapes on the crush pad. The app asks for these only when players are level, and players equal on all three share the place.

The sheet follows the 2013 game in its first and second editions; Viticulture Essential has a sheet of its own. Expansions are not covered: Tuscany’s extended board, for example, plays to 25 points and scores the influence map at the end.

How Viticulture is scored

Victory points are scored during play on the victory point track, and nothing is added at the end. The game ends at the end of the year in which a player reaches 20 points, and the most points wins. Each player enters their final position on the track; lira, wine value and grape value are asked for only to break a tie.

The rows below are the app's Viticulture sheet, in the order of the game's score pad. "You enter" is the row's own explanation in the app; "Points" is what the app does with the entry.

  1. Victory Points

You enter: Enter your final score: your position on the victory point track.

    Points as entered.

  2. Lira

You enter: Enter how many lira you have.

Points: Not added to the total; breaks ties only.

  3. Wine Value

You enter: Add up the values of all the wine tokens in your cellar.

Points: Not added to the total; breaks ties only.

  4. Grape Value

You enter: Add up the values of all the grape tokens on your crush pad.

Points: Not added to the total; breaks ties only.

Tiebreaker

If totals are equal, the player with the higher Lira wins, then the higher Wine Value, then the higher Grape Value. The app asks for a tiebreaker row only when a tie actually happens.
