About Carcassonne scoring

Carcassonne (Klaus-Jürgen Wrede, Hans im Glück, 2000, Spiel des Jahres 2001) scores roads, cities and monasteries as soon as they are completed. A road is worth 1 point per tile, a city 2 per tile and per coat of arms, and a monastery 9. The scoreboard keeps the total, and each full lap of it is worth 50.

When the last land tile has been placed, final scoring counts the unfinished features that still hold meeples. Roads score 1 point per tile, and cities half their usual value: 1 point per tile and per coat of arms. A monastery scores 1 point for its own tile and 1 for each tile around it. Each field scores 3 points for every completed city it touches. In every feature and field, the player with the most meeples scores, and tied players all score in full.

Three things about fields are easy to miss. An unfinished city adds nothing to a field. A city counts for every field it touches. More farmers decide who scores a field, not how much.

The rulebook has no tiebreaker: players level on points share the victory. The sheet follows the current rules (Hans im Glück 2021, Z-Man Games in English). The River and the Abbot from the box are covered, and gardens score like monasteries. Other expansions, such as Inns & Cathedrals, are not covered.

How Carcassonne is scored

Completed roads score 1 point per tile, cities 2 per tile and per coat of arms, and monasteries 9, straight onto the scoreboard. After the last tile, unfinished features score 1 point per tile and per coat of arms, and fields 3 per completed city. The app takes each player's scoreboard total, with 50 for each lap, and works out the final scoring from four counts.

The rows below are the app's Carcassonne sheet, in the order of the game's score pad. "You enter" is the row's own explanation in the app; "Points" is what the app does with the entry.
