About Cascadia scoring
Cascadia (Randy Flynn, Flatout Games and AEG, 2021, Spiel des Jahres 2022) is scored at the end in three parts. Each of the five wildlife types is scored by the card drawn for it at setup, A to D, so bears, elk, salmon, hawks and foxes each have their own rule that game; the app asks for the points per animal and leaves the card’s logic to you. Each of the five habitats then scores 1 point per tile in your largest connected corridor of that habitat, with a bonus for the biggest corridor at the table. Leftover nature tokens are worth 1 point each.
The corridor bonus is the step that depends on everyone else’s board, and the official score pad has a separate line for it. The app compares the corridor sizes of all players and awards the bonus by player count, so nobody has to check who is largest in each habitat.
Ties are broken by the number of nature tokens left over.
How Cascadia is scored
Scored once at the end of the game.
The rows below are the app's Cascadia sheet, in the order of the game's score pad. "You enter" is the row's own explanation in the app; "Points" is what the app does with the entry.
Bears
You enter: Score your bears according to the active Bear scoring card (A, B, C or D). Count your bear groups as the card requires and enter the total points here.
Points as entered.
Elk
You enter: Score your elk according to the active Elk scoring card (A, B, C or D). Form the lines or formations the card rewards and enter the total points here.
Points as entered.
Salmon
You enter: Score your salmon according to the active Salmon scoring card (A, B, C or D). Count your salmon runs as the card requires and enter the total points here.
Points as entered.
Hawks
You enter: Score your hawks according to the active Hawk scoring card (A, B, C or D). Count the qualifying hawks and enter the total points here.
Points as entered.
Foxes
You enter: Score your foxes according to the active Fox scoring card (A, B, C or D). Check the wildlife surrounding each fox as the card requires and enter the total points here.
Points as entered.
Mountain Corridor
You enter: Enter the size of your largest connected Mountain corridor (the number of tiles). The largest-corridor bonus is added automatically based on the player count.
Points: Each tile of your largest corridor is worth 1 point. The largest corridors of this habitat at the table also get a bonus, which depends on the number of players. A tie for the largest leaves no bonus for second:
- 1 player: 7 or more tiles → +2 pts
- 2 players: largest → +2 pts
- 2 players: tied for largest → +1 pt each
- 3–4 players: largest → +3 pts
- 3–4 players: second largest → +1 pt
- 3–4 players: 2 tied for largest → +2 pts each
- 3–4 players: 3 or 4 tied → +1 pt each
- 3–4 players: tied for second → nothing
Forest Corridor
You enter: Enter the size of your largest connected Forest corridor (the number of tiles). The largest-corridor bonus is added automatically based on the player count.
Points: The same as Mountain Corridor.
Prairie Corridor
You enter: Enter the size of your largest connected Prairie corridor (the number of tiles). The largest-corridor bonus is added automatically based on the player count.
Points: The same as Mountain Corridor.
Wetland Corridor
You enter: Enter the size of your largest connected Wetland corridor (the number of tiles). The largest-corridor bonus is added automatically based on the player count.
Points: The same as Mountain Corridor.
River Corridor
You enter: Enter the size of your largest connected River corridor (the number of tiles). The largest-corridor bonus is added automatically based on the player count.
Points: The same as Mountain Corridor.
Nature Tokens
You enter: Number of leftover Nature tokens.
Points: Each token is worth 1 point.
The largest-corridor bonus is compared between players, so the app adds it once every sheet is in: with 2 players the largest corridor of each habitat gets 2 points (1 each if tied); with 3 or 4 players the largest gets 3 and the second largest 1, with ties splitting as the rulebook says; solo gets 2 points for each corridor of 7 or more tiles.
Tiebreaker
If totals are equal, the player with the higher Nature Tokens wins.
