How Great Western Trail is scored

Scored once at the end of the game.

The rows below are the app's Great Western Trail sheet, in the order of the game's score pad. "You enter" is the row's own explanation in the app; "Points" is what the app does with the entry.

  1. Money

You enter: Enter how many Dollars you own.

Points: Every 5 dollars are worth 1 point. Anything left over is worth nothing.

  2. Private Buildings

You enter: Add up the victory points printed on your private building tiles that are placed on the game board.

    Points as entered.

  3. Cities

You enter: Add up the victory points of the city crests your discs have unlocked. Some crests are negative (Kansas City is −6), so the sum can be negative.

    Points as entered.

  4. Train Stations

You enter: Add up the victory points printed next to each train station that has one of your discs on it.

    Points as entered.

  5. Hazard Tiles

You enter: Add up the victory points printed on the hazard tiles you removed from the trail.

    Points as entered.

  6. Cattle Cards

You enter: Add up the victory points printed on every cattle card you own - in your deck, your hand and your discard pile.

    Points as entered.

  7. Objective Cards

You enter: First decide for each objective card still in your deck whether to keep it or remove it. Then add the points of every objective you fulfilled and subtract the points of every objective you did not. The starting objective never counts as negative.

    Points as entered.

  8. Station Master Tiles

You enter: Gain the sum of victory points generated by the individual tasks of the station master tiles that you have in front of you. These individual tasks are totally independent of the tasks on objective cards.

    Points as entered.

  9. Workers

You enter: Enter how many workers stand on the 5th or 6th space of any row in your worker section.

Points: Each worker is worth 4 points.

  10. Player Board

You enter: Tick if you cleared the disc space on your player board marked with the 3 victory point symbol.

Points: Any number of players can have it. A tick is worth 3 points.

  11. Job Market Token

You enter: Tick for the player who has the job market token, the one who triggered the end of the game.

Points: Only one player can have it. A tick is worth 2 points.
